Platform engineer

Help shape the digital future-readiness of the Bundeswehr together with us.

• Automated provisioning of containerized applications via CI/CD (GitOps)
• Planning, assessment, and coordination of changes to platform components and applications
• Operating and further developing the development environment, including analyzing, resolving, and permanently addressing the root causes of platform-related incidents
• Ensuring technical integration between the platform, applications, and external systems
• Managing ITIL processes (Incident, Change, Release, Problem) and using the associated ITSM tools
• Monitoring and optimizing the platform using observability tools, and ensuring agreed availability and performance characteristics

• Completed university degree in computer science and more than 4 years of relevant professional experience, ideally in the development or operation of business applications
• Several years of experience in DevOps and CI/CD architecture (e.g., GitLab, ArgoCD, Nexus, Artifactory), as well as with GitOps, Infrastructure as Code, and container virtualization/orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Knowledge of interfaces and synchronous/asynchronous communication protocols (HTTP/REST, GraphQL, Kafka), as well as Java/Spring Boot with database integration (JPA); frontend experience with React (JS) is desirable
• Good knowledge of Identity & Access Management, ideally with Keycloak
• Good knowledge of certificates and DNS
• Fluent German, spoken and written, and very good English skills

• The starting salary is generally between EUR 71,000 and EUR 91,650 gross per year. The exact amount is determined based on criteria such as qualifications, area of responsibility, and the requirements of the position. Justified deviations may be possible in individual cases
