DevOps engineer in GovTech

Our decision models fully and machine-readably represent the logic of laws, regulations and complex sets of rules. Routine checks are thus automated and transparent, while the decision remains with the human. We build this technology for public administration as well as regulated companies. Authorities currently use it in building permit and wind power procedures, among others. At Rulemapping, we are revolutionizing the world of rules and laws and developing the open standard for digital law with our Law as Code approach.

• You bring our production systems into the STACKIT Cloud and ensure that they run stably and securely there.
• You operate and expand our Kubernetes clusters on STACKIT, from networking and ingress to certificates and secrets.
• You further develop our Infrastructure as Code foundation with OpenTofu/Terraform, Ansible and Helm.
• For customer installations, you are responsible for deployments and cutover with a rollback plan, and substantiate every change with measurements from the actual target environment.
• Your first project will be migrating our builder infrastructure to a STACKIT cluster.
• You expand observability and alerting with Prometheus, Grafana and Loki and are responsible for operational security, from CVE assessment and image pinning to secret rotation and least privilege.
• When working with AI agents such as Claude Code, you formulate the task, critically review the result and decide what to adopt.
• You also write runbooks and document decisions together with their constraints so that colleagues and agents alike can work with them.
• You help decide how we spend our limited time and what we deliberately do not do.
• If an effort is not worthwhile, you speak up.

• Several years of experience operating production systems, with responsibility for production that goes beyond building pipelines.
• A degree in computer science is just as welcome as a self-taught background with demonstrable practical experience.
• Deep understanding of Linux, networking and Kubernetes, as well as confident use of Infrastructure as Code and Git-based workflows.
• Analytical root-cause investigation, including in systems built by others, and an attitude of verifying claims rather than accepting them.
• Precise writing as a professional tool, from task descriptions and handovers to justifications, as well as experience guiding AI coding agents to produce working results.
• An independent working style without close supervision, as well as the ability to make and justify decisions.
