devops engineer for Linux security products

CloudLinux is a global remote-first company that delivers high-volume, low-cost Linux infrastructure and security products. Its Imunify360 product is an automated security solution for shared and VPS/dedicated servers, providing comprehensive attack prevention through a six-layer security approach.

• Design, build, and maintain the Patchman backend infrastructure;
• Develop and maintain new product features from design through implementation and testing;
• Investigate and resolve complex customer-reported issues by identifying root causes in the codebase;
• Operate and maintain a large fleet of dedicated servers, including API gateways, load balancers, and internal processing nodes;
• Implement and improve CI/CD pipelines for efficient, automated delivery;
• Write and maintain comprehensive unit and integration tests;
• Monitor production system performance and reliability and proactively identify improvements;
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine architecture and contribute to technical direction.

• 5+ Years of professional experience as a Backend or DevOps Developer;
• Proficiency in at least one high-level programming language;
• Experience designing backend services with understanding of performance, concurrency, scalability, and reliability;
• Strong Linux systems administration skills, including troubleshooting performance and resource issues, process management, networking, filesystems, systemd services, and production log analysis;
• Hands-on experience building and running high-throughput data pipelines at scale using Apache Kafka, ClickHouse, RabbitMQ, or similar technologies;
• Experience with SQL databases such as PostgreSQL and in-memory databases such as Redis;
• Strong understanding of relational, NoSQL, and in-memory key-value storage paradigms;
• Practical experience with Docker and Docker Compose in local development and production deployments;
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes;
• Experience working with monitoring systems;
• Solid understanding of CI/CD best practices, including Git, automated testing, and deployment workflows;
• Excellent debugging skills and ability to investigate complex technical issues;
• Analytical mindset and ability to interpret metrics and user feedback for data-driven decisions;
• Strong communication and collaboration skills;
• Upper-intermediate spoken and written English;
• Nice to have: Experience working with Django, configuration management systems such as Puppet, Ansible, Salt, or similar tools.
