Azure cloud engineer in managed services

Our Hybrid Managed Service team ensures the performance of our customers’ IT infrastructures. In tailored setups, we operate various infrastructure services and continuously develop them. Our focus areas include data center, storage, backup, Windows, Linux, virtualization, and infrastructure support. As an Azure Cloud Engineer (gn), you take technical responsibility for business-critical managed service environments on Microsoft Azure. You ensure stable, secure operations, analyze incidents, and develop sustainable improvements together with cloud, infrastructure, and development teams.

• Operate, monitor, and optimize complex Microsoft Azure infrastructures
• Analyze and resolve challenging incidents and derive sustainable measures
• Automate recurring tasks with PowerShell, Bash, and Azure Runbooks
• Administer Azure networks, virtual machines, databases, identities, permissions, and policies
• Further develop monitoring, logging, documentation, and the Knowledge Base
• Contribute to Infrastructure-as-Code topics, especially Terraform
• Participate in on-site appointments, support assignments, and 24/7 on-call duty

• You bring an independent, proactive, and structured way of working, and the willingness to learn new technologies and adjacent application or web service topics. You have several years of experience operating complex Microsoft Azure environments and experience in the following areas
• Azure Infrastructure: subscriptions, management groups, VMs, networks, firewalls, VPN, Application Gateway, Private Endpoints, and DNS
• Azure Operations: Resource Health, monitoring, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Update Manager, and Maintenance Configurations
• Databases and platform services such as Azure SQL, PostgreSQL, Web Apps, Container Apps, and Container Registry
• Identity & Security: Microsoft Entra ID, RBAC, Azure Policy, Privileged Identity Management, and AD synchronization
• Basic knowledge of Azure DevOps, especially repositories, pipelines, and service connections
• Experience with Windows Server and basic knowledge of Linux, ideally Red Hat Enterprise Linux or Ubuntu
• Scripting and automation skills with PowerShell and Bash
• Knowledge of Kusto Query Language, JSON, ARM Templates, and an interest in Terraform
• Knowledge of Active Directory Domain Services and DNS
• Fluent German and English skills
