rust developer for E2EE messaging

• Work on a multi-platform client SDK and existing and new backend components for scalable and highly reliable E2EE messaging;
• Contribute to future direction through feature and architecture proposals, proactive collaboration, and communication;
• Support colleagues in understanding Rust-specific concepts and porting from other programming languages;
• Maintain and improve the end-to-end process from linting, automated testing, and optimized compilation to containerizing Rust artifacts in CI/CD systems;
• Focus on strong documentation, unit and integration tests, and conduct complex smoke and load tests.

• Completed degree or comparable training in an IT-related field;
• At least 3 years of Rust experience and the ability to apply the language’s advantages deliberately;
• At least 5 years of professional software development experience;
• Experience working in agile development teams;
• Strong understanding of common security risks, such as OWASP, and their prevention;
• Experience developing performant web services and APIs;
• Familiarity with cryptographic encryption methods in this context;
• Experience with automated testing and producing and releasing production-ready Rust artifacts in at least one CI/CD framework;
• Creative and flexible mindset with intrinsic motivation to implement own ideas and a strong hands-on mentality;
• Fluent German in spoken and written communication;
• Very good English skills;
• Nice to have: knowledge and understanding of client SDK and multi-platform framework development, such as uniffi-rs or Tauri; knowledge and understanding of Kubernetes-based application architectures.

• Annual compensation ranges from 71.000 € to 104.040 €, depending on responsibilities, experience, and competencies;
