Salmon is a technology-driven financial company building a banking and lending platform across Southeast Asia, starting in the Philippines. Its platform serves millions of users through a broad network of partner stores and focuses on expanding access to financial services.

• Design and build new backend services in a microservice, event-driven environment with reliability as the primary constraint;
• Coordinate architecture and integrations with the Core and RBB teams to keep cross-team delivery consistent;
• Contribute to delivering major new service lines such as collections or cross-matching graphs;
• Own key components of the existing architecture and take on new service domains;
• Design service architecture and choose communication patterns between services;
• Instrument services with metrics for monitoring and alerting, and cover them with unit tests;
• Identify and resolve technical debt and architectural bottlenecks;
• Build and maintain shared libraries and tooling for recurring tasks;
• Explore and adopt new instruments, and contribute ideas to development practices.

• 3+ Years of production experience as a Python backend developer;
• Strong Python skills, including typing, testing, packaging, asyncio, threading, and multiprocessing;
• Production experience with microservice architecture;
• Familiarity with event-driven systems such as Kafka;
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes, preferably on AWS EKS;
• Nice to have: AWS, Terraform, domain-driven design, a statically typed compiled language, finance, antifraud or risk, graph databases, graph-based data models.
