PHP Developer

XM provides financial services and operates in the gambling and casino industries. Its engineering team develops web applications and internal web services using PHP, Go, React, Angular, Kubernetes, Terraform, and AWS.

• Design and implement new features and projects;
• Maintain and refactor existing web applications, including the company website, registration forms, Members Area, and internal web services;
• Research and integrate new web technologies;
• Write continuously running tests on the CI server to ensure code quality, maintain high test coverage, and uphold engineering standards;
• Address and resolve support tickets for issues arising within assigned projects.

• Hold a BSc/MSc in information technology or another relevant field;
• Have at least 3 years of experience in a similar position;
• Have very good knowledge of PHP 8+, MySQL, Redis, and Git;
• Understand object-oriented programming principles very well;
• Have experience creating and consuming web services;
• Have experience with modern PHP frameworks;
• Have experience writing tests with PHPUnit;
• Research and adapt new technologies that add value to the team;
• Have strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise;
• Have problem-solving and analytical skills;
• Be able to work independently and integrate well within a team;
• Nice to have: Symfony, REST APIs, design patterns, SOLID, DRY, OWASP security practices, AWS or other cloud providers, database query optimisation, Composer package development.
