node.js developer serverless services

GigsRemote connects trusted companies with technology contractors from Central and Eastern Europe, enabling them to work on IT projects of varying complexity and duration.

• Design and build serverless backend services using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, and DynamoDB;
• Implement secure authentication and authorisation flows with AWS Cognito and OAuth2/OIDC;
• Build and maintain asynchronous processing pipelines for document and image workloads;
• Contribute to API design and backend architecture decisions;
• Integrate AI/LLM tooling to improve code quality and development workflows;
• Participate in code reviews and help maintain a high engineering standard.

• Fluent in English;
• 5+ Years of backend development experience, including at least 3 years in AWS serverless environments;
• Strong Node.js, TypeScript, and Python skills;
• Proficiency with AWS Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, SQS, and Cognito;
• Experience with DynamoDB data modelling, including GSI/LSI and access patterns;
• Experience using Python for scripting and data processing;
• Knowledge of security best practices, including JWT, IAM, and secrets management;
• Working knowledge of DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and infrastructure as code;
• Nice to have: Terraform or AWS CDK, React / TypeScript frontend experience, PostgreSQL, AWS certification.

• Contract role;
• Full-time or part-time schedule of 3–4 days per week;
• B2B contract with potential to extend;
• Only contractors based in Europe will be considered.
