Microsoft Fabric solution architect

EPAM helps enterprise clients navigate data platform choices and shape robust architectures using Microsoft Fabric and Power BI. Its work addresses enterprise challenges such as lakehouse and warehouse design, security, and FinOps, enabling clients to build trusted, scalable data platforms that drive business outcomes.

• Run architecture discovery, current-state assessments, data and analytics maturity assessments, and technical roadmaps for enterprise clients
• Make and document key platform decisions, including Fabric versus Databricks, Synapse, or Snowflake; Lakehouse versus Warehouse; storage modes; workspace and domain topology; data mesh versus centralized models; capacity sizing; and licensing
• Design end-to-end Microsoft Fabric solutions using OneLake, Lakehouse, Warehouse, Data Factory pipelines, Dataflows Gen2, Notebooks, Real-Time Intelligence, and Power BI with Power BI Copilot
• Design governance, security, and operating frameworks, including Microsoft Purview governance, sensitivity labels, RLS/OLS, identity and access models, tenant settings, a Center of Excellence, self-service BI guardrails, and lifecycle management
• Select suitable patterns for each customer, such as medallion architecture, data mesh, domain-based setups, and hub-and-spoke workspaces
• Write and maintain enterprise-grade solution documentation, including HLD/LLD, ADRs, non-functional requirements, security and compliance concepts, data models and lineage, operating and support models, and handover documentation
• Plan and run migrations from legacy platforms to Fabric, including Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, SSIS/SSAS, on-premises SQL Server, Snowflake, Databricks, Power BI Premium P-SKUs, Tableau, and Qlik
• Plan Fabric capacity and manage cost, performance, and monitoring using the Capacity Metrics app
• Advise on AI-ready data platforms, including Copilot in Fabric and Power BI, Fabric data agents, and integration with Azure AI services
• Supervise delivery as design authority by setting engineering standards, running design and code reviews, defining quality gates, checking implementation against architecture, and approving architecture changes
• Turn project experience into reusable blueprints, reference architectures, documentation templates, and accelerators for the Microsoft Data & Analytics practice

• Four-plus years of experience in data and analytics, business intelligence, or data platform architecture, including one-plus years in a solution architect role
• One-plus year of Microsoft Fabric experience
• Two-plus years of Power BI experience, including enterprise semantic model design, star schema modeling, DAX concepts, performance and capacity management, and tenant administration
• Hands-on ability to validate prototypes and review pipelines, notebooks, semantic models, and DAX, and to guide engineering decisions without being the main builder
• Solid understanding of data governance, security, identity (Entra ID), and compliance requirements in enterprise environments
• Experience running workshops and presenting to executive and technical audiences
• Strong presentation-writing and architecture-diagramming skills
• English communication skills at B2+/C1 level
• German communication skills at B2 level
