Solidgate is building a payments orchestration platform that provides financial infrastructure for internet companies, including subscriptions, chargeback management, fraud prevention, and indirect tax solutions.

• Define the architecture and technical strategy for tax calculation and reporting logic;
• Lead the integration of third-party tax providers and own the related technical partnerships;
• Drive system resilience, uptime, and scalability across services;
• Make high-impact architectural decisions and establish engineering standards and best practices;
• Lead, mentor, and grow the engineering team, and help shape hiring as the team scales;
• Deliver core tax functionality during the first months;
• Establish a solid technical foundation and define engineering practices for future product and team growth;
• Champion automated testing across the team, including unit, integration, functional, and e2e tests.

• 4+ Years of backend engineering experience with Go, PHP, Kotlin, Java, or Python;
• Proven experience designing and owning high-load, distributed systems;
• Strong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL;
• Solid experience with queues or streams;
• Experience with unit, integration, functional, and e2e testing;
• Experience mentoring engineers and setting technical direction;
• Proactive, independent, result-oriented mindset with strong ownership;
• Nice to have: Kafka, AWS services, CI/CD pipelines, fintech/payments/financial domain experience, understanding of VAT, GST, and Sales Tax, experience managing or leading teams.
