Kotlin Developer

Andersen delivers technology projects across FinTech, Healthcare, Retail, Telecom, and other business domains. The project supports a large financial institution and focuses on secure digital card solutions and customer-facing self-service banking kiosks for bcc.kz clients.

• Develop and maintain backend functionality in Java/Kotlin for high-load banking systems;
• Design and implement REST APIs and microservice-based solutions using Spring Boot;
• Develop integrations with internal and external systems using Kafka, RabbitMQ, and Camunda;
• Optimize relational and NoSQL databases, including writing and optimizing complex SQL queries;
• Write unit tests, conduct code reviews, and ensure code quality using Git and static code analysis tools;
• Collaborate with business analysts, solution architects, and QA engineers within an Agile/Scrum development team.

• Have 3+ years of experience in mobile application development;
• Have 2+ years of experience working in a bank or on banking-related projects;
• Have strong knowledge of Kotlin or Java and object-oriented programming principles;
• Have hands-on experience with Clean Architecture, MVI (Redux/TEA), Coroutines (Flow), advanced Kotlin, design patterns, Jetpack Compose, and GitLab CI;
• Understand mobile application performance optimization principles;
• Have experience working in cross-functional teams and understand Agile/Scrum methodologies;
• Understand operating system architecture and its interaction with the JVM;
• Understand networking concepts, including the OSI model, stateless and stateful protocol design, and HTTP and TCP;
• Have strong experience with the Spring ecosystem, including Spring Boot development with Kotlin;
• Have strong knowledge of SQL databases, ACID properties, and transaction isolation levels;
• Be proficient with version control systems, preferably Git;
• Have experience working with Docker;
• Be able and willing to write high-quality unit tests;
• Have experience with static code analysis tools such as SonarQube and Detekt/Ktlint;
• Be willing to mentor teammates and conduct code reviews;
• Have Intermediate English or above;
• Nice to have: NoSQL databases, Camunda, BPMN 2.0, business process modeling and orchestration, delegates/workers, workflow engine integration into microservices architecture, Testcontainers, designing and building a microservices architecture from scratch for a new project.
