50Hertz develops and operates energy infrastructure and provides the Smart Energy platform for collecting and processing smart meter data. Its IT services contribute to the security of the German power grid.

• Develop and enhance software components and modules within defined technology frameworks, and provide updates for business requirements;
• Contribute across the entire service lifecycle: design, build, and run;
• Prepare, shape, and support architecture decisions and optimizations;
• Ensure stable and reliable application operations and continuously improve operational processes, especially by expanding and optimizing monitoring solutions;
• Analyze, resolve, and sustainably prevent production and stability issues;
• Ensure code quality, security, documentation, and best practices throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC);
• Enhance deployment pipelines, such as Azure DevOps;
• Collaborate closely with business departments, operations, architecture, service owners, and other stakeholders.

• Degree in computer science, business informatics, or a comparable qualification;
• Several years of professional software development experience with Java and modern frameworks such as Spring Boot;
• Solid experience developing distributed systems and microservices;
• Very good knowledge of software design patterns, API-centric architectures, and highly available, scalable system landscapes;
• Experience with modern technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, Kafka, and/or Spark/Flink;
• Practical experience developing in cloud-native environments such as OpenShift or Azure;
• Knowledge of modern development and operations practices, including CI/CD, version control, automated testing, Clean Code, DevOps, SRE, and application support;
• Understanding of service-oriented architectures and modern operating models;
• Very good English skills at least C1;
• Good German skills at least B2–C1;
• Nice to have: knowledge of energy industry processes such as smart meter data billing, experience with regulatory IT systems, experience with agile methods such as Scrum and Kanban.

• Fixed-term contract for 2 years;
