java developer for client lifecycle management

The Client Lifecycle Management, IB Digital Operations team in Krakow develops a customizable solution for onboarding and maintaining clients from over 90 countries. The project generates data-driven requirements for capturing documents and data based on data taxonomy and uses a microservices architecture, Azure Kubernetes Service, and Spring Boot.

• Play a key role in designing and building highly scalable, distributed cloud applications
• Provide technology solutions to solve business problems and strengthen the company's position as a digital leader in financial services
• Design, plan, and deliver sustainable solutions using modern technologies
• Use state-of-the-art AI tools to deliver better-tailored solutions
• Implement proofs of concept and application skeletons for the rest of the team
• Participate in or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide on architecture
• Help build modern CI/CD solutions to reduce lead time

• At least 8+ years of practical experience in enterprise-level Java development and delivering production systems
• Advanced proficiency in JVM languages, ideally Java 11+
• Strong command of design patterns, SOLID principles, and Clean Code practices
• Understanding of distributed microservices architectures, service communication patterns such as Kafka message queues, and REST API design, ideally with Spring Boot
• At least two backend large-scale solutions successfully delivered to production, ideally involving high-throughput APIs, event-driven systems, or complex business workflows
• Hands-on experience with relational and document databases, caching layers, and message queues
• Strong grasp of data structures, algorithms, concurrency, asynchronous/reactive programming, and transaction management
• Understanding of unit and integration testing practices and CI/CD pipelines such as GitLab CI/CD
• Ability to evaluate trade-offs and select appropriate tools, frameworks, and architectural patterns
• Familiarity with cloud technologies and container orchestration, including Docker and Kubernetes, ideally with Azure, AWS, or GCP
• Strong debugging, profiling, and optimization skills for high-performance JVM applications
• Experience working in Agile environments
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Experience using agentic LLMs to support the development process
