As a Senior Java Developer, you will design, develop, and maintain scalable enterprise applications within an agile engineering team. You will combine strong Java and backend engineering skills with a practical understanding of machine learning, natural language processing, and Large Language Models to help build reliable, secure, and maintainable AI-enabled solutions.

• Analyze, design, develop, test, and maintain complex enterprise software using Java and related technologies.
• Design scalable backend services and contribute to the evolution of core application frameworks.
• Integrate machine learning models, Large Language Models, and AI services into enterprise applications.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Business Analysts, architects, and engineers to translate business requirements into sustainable technical solutions.
• Contribute to architectural decisions related to AI integration, data flows, validation, security, observability, and operational support.
• Apply engineering best practices to AI-enabled functionality, including automated testing, output validation, performance monitoring, auditability, and human oversight.
• Provide informed technical guidance during design discussions and code reviews.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues in mission-critical client environments.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering practices.

The minimum salary quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate ultimately works outside of this primary location, the applicable minimum salary may differ.

Salary will be determined based on factors such as the position, type of work performed, individual skills, job description, working hours, diligence, initiative, self-management, length of employment, availability, and the quantity and quality of work delivered, as well as other objective and non-discriminatory criteria relevant to State Street employees.

In addition to salary, employees are eligible to be considered for discretionary annual performance-based awards.
