Primer provides unified infrastructure for global payments, giving finance and payments teams visibility and control to reduce complexity, improve performance, and capture more revenue through a single platform.

• Lead frontend architecture and technical direction for the self-serve onboarding and platform experience, owning how it is built
• Spend roughly 80% of hands-on codebase time on frontend and 20% on backend; this split may shift depending on priorities
• Partner with Design to take the onboarding and platform experience from concept to production, shaping merchants’ first steps with Primer
• Mentor engineers joining the team and help raise the bar for their frontend craft
• Set frontend conventions and quality standards, including architecture reviews, code quality, and testing approach
• Contribute to the Python backend when needed to unblock frontend work or deliver features end to end

• Proven production experience architecting and building complex frontend applications
• Comfortable being the most senior frontend voice in the room and pushing back on Design or Product when frontend realities require it
• Some backend experience and willingness to work in a Python codebase; deep backend expertise is not required
• Experience mentoring other engineers
