• Take independent ownership of medium-sized technical features and components, delivering stable and production-ready code with minimal supervision;
• Ship continuously to trunk through small pull requests and fast feedback;
• Build and extend a Django backend serving multiple countries from a single codebase;
• Make deliberate decisions about generic versus territory-specific functionality;
• Integrate with upstream platform services including Kraken Customer, Kraken Field, and Kraken Flex for billing, CRM, authentication, and device control;
• Identify and address monitoring, alerting, and observability gaps;
• Participate in feature technical designs and code reviews;
• Provide clear documentation for pull requests;
• Resolve bugs and service blockers using systematic, structured approaches;
• Address incident management within the core domain.

• 3–4 Years of experience building web applications in Python, ideally with Django;
• Experience writing highly testable code with unit, integration, and functional tests running in parallel in CI;
• Experience working with relational databases and background task processing;
• Experience working in large, multi-tenant codebases with shared abstractions, territory-specific behavior, and upstream service integrations;
• Ability to break down engineering problems into shippable slices and make steady progress when requirements are evolving;
• Comfortable with continuous delivery, automated type checking, linting, and CI guardrails;
• Openness to integrating modern AI tools into daily development, testing, and debugging;
• Curiosity about smart energy devices and the technology connecting them to homes;
• Willingness to receive feedback and adapt the approach;
• Ability to work in the UK;
• Nice to have: TypeScript, AWS Lambda, CDK, DynamoDB, event-driven microservices, API Gateway, distributed architecture, scaling across services.

• Remote candidates are considered, but work must be performed from the UK;
• London office work is preferred;
