data scientist for AI/ML team

The AI/ML team applies quantitative thinking to practical, ambiguous problems in a zero-to-one startup environment.

• Develop practical data science and AI solutions using quantitative and engineering skills
• Use agentic AI coding tools in the daily technical workflow
• Take ownership of work in an early-stage setting where problems and priorities can change quickly

• Five or more years of relevant technical experience and an engineering or quantitative background, such as AI, machine learning, software engineering, mathematics, or data science
• A quantitative degree from a highly selective university, a mathematics PhD, or equivalent depth of mathematical rigor
• Experience as an early startup hire, ideally among the first 15 employees, and the ability to work effectively in a zero-to-one environment
• Daily hands-on use of agentic AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or equivalent
• Strong practical problem-solving skills and comfort working with ambiguity
• Prior retail or fresh-produce experience is not required
• Willingness to work in a high-intensity, always-on environment

• Annual salary range: €70,000 to €110,000
• Visa sponsorship is available
• Candidates must be based in Berlin or willing to relocate
