Salmon is a technology-driven financial company building a banking and lending platform across Southeast Asia, starting in the Philippines. • Design and run batch and streaming pipelines on Databricks and Apache Spark over AWS, ingesting from databases, APIs, and event streams;
• Shape the lakehouse architecture on S3 and Delta Lake, including medallion layering and storage optimization;
• Work with analytics, engineering, and product teams to turn raw data into reliable, usable business inputs;
• Own projects end to end, from stakeholder alignment and design review through implementation, launch, and ongoing support;
• Build self-service data solutions that scale and extend as new sources and use cases are added;
• Build and maintain scalable, fault-tolerant, cost-optimized ETL/ELT pipelines;
• Optimize Spark jobs end to end, including cluster sizing, caching, joins, shuffles, partitioning, and storage formats;
• Manage Databricks Workflows, jobs, cluster configurations, and underlying infrastructure;
• Respond to failures and performance issues;
• Implement data governance and access control with Unity Catalog across accounts and environments, including PII handling.

• Hands-on experience with Databricks and strong proficiency in Apache Spark, PySpark and/or Scala;
• Strong Python for data engineering, plus SQL and Spark SQL for transformation and analytics;
• Experience with Delta Lake and lakehouse architectures, including performance optimization;
• Proven ownership of projects, including identifying weak points, gathering feedback, and making solutions scalable and maintainable;
• Experience writing clean, testable, maintainable code with Git-based version control;
• Nice to have: infrastructure-as-code experience with Terraform or Ansible.
