Data Engineer

Natixis in Portugal serves as a Centre of Expertise dedicated to transforming traditional banking through the development of innovative solutions for Groupe BPCE. The organization supports Corporate & Investment Banking, Asset & Wealth Management, and transversal services across the global group.

• Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end data pipelines (ELT/ETL) to ingest, process, and store large volumes of data;
• Build robust data models and schemas for data warehouses and data lakes;
• Develop in Python to implement data transformations, orchestration, automation, and data quality checks;
• Integrate testing into the data engineering lifecycle, including UAT/QA and validation;
• Collaborate with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, Analysts, and Business Stakeholders to deliver solutions;
• Implement data quality, monitoring, logging, and alerting mechanisms;
• Ensure data governance, security, privacy, and compliance;
• Create and maintain technical documentation, data dictionaries, runbooks, and test plans;
• Participate in code reviews and Agile/Scrum ceremonies.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent experience;
• 3+ Years of professional data engineering experience;
• Strong Python development skills including design patterns, testing, and packaging;
• Experience with cloud platforms such as GCP (BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Dataproc, Composer), AWS, or Azure;
• Proficiency in SQL, ETL/ELT concepts, data modeling, and schema design;
• Experience with data orchestration tools, version control (Git), and collaboration tooling;
• French (B1 level) and English proficiency;
• Nice to have: Experience with Control-M or other job orchestration tools, familiarity with CI/CD for data pipelines, exposure to UAT/QA testing and test automation.
