Backend engineer for internal tools

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join the Core Team of a leading European tech company. This central team develops the libraries, internal tools and foundational components used by all product teams. It is a high-impact role with strong autonomy and technical ownership, in a cloud-native, distributed environment.

• Design and develop reusable backend libraries and shared components.
• Support multiple teams with scalable and maintainable solutions.
• Contribute to the migration from a monolith to a microservices architecture.
• Improve system performance, reliability and observability.
• Drive best practices: clean code, testing and architecture standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a distributed environment.

• 5+ years of experience in backend development.
• Strong experience with Python (FastAPI and/or Django).
• Experience with microservices and distributed systems.
• Solid understanding of REST APIs and system design.
• Experience with databases and messaging systems.
• Strong focus on code quality (Clean Code, SOLID, TDD/BDD).
• Comfortable working in agile environments (Scrum / Kanban).
• Proactive mindset, ownership and strong team collaboration skills.
• English C1 (mandatory).
