Backend engineer for AI agents

getpress is developing its own AI agent platform (LangGraph, PostgreSQL, Next.js) for the PR industry. getpress, one of Germany's fastest-growing PR agencies, has decided to lead this transformation. We are building the PR company of the future: no longer a pure service company, but a service-as-a-software company. Our AI team has been in place for four months. The basic architecture is ready, and initial parts of our PR platform and multi-agent system are running in production. Now we are looking for you to own the technical foundation as a Backend Engineer alongside our second developer.

• Full-stack development of the platform that will become the PR agency's operating system in 2027. Close to users, in fast development cycles, and with your decisions setting the direction.
• Building an agent system that redefines the PR value chain end to end. You build the agents our consultants work with every day, including self-learning loops and multi-agent orchestration.
• Contributing to the system architecture, including workflows, data model, interfaces, compliance, and tech stack (so far primarily PostgreSQL, Next.js, LangGraph, Docker).
• Further developing the database architecture, including relational and vector databases.

• More than 3 years of experience in software development.
• More than 1 year of experience developing AI agents and components such as memory, context engineering, retrieval, and orchestration using frameworks such as LangChain, CrewAI, LangGraph, or similar.
• Tech stack: TypeScript, Python, PostgreSQL, Docker, Git, LangGraph, GitHub.
• Experience developing backend systems with frameworks (FastAPI, Spring Boot, NestJS, etc.) and common programming languages (e.g. Java, TypeScript, Python).
• Experience with container-based and cloud-native architectures (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, or similar).
• C1 German proficiency is an advantage; B2 level is sufficient, with the motivation to take a course to reach C1 during your first year of employment.
