backend developer in consumer finance

HomeServe Finance develops consumer finance products, lending platforms and technology that help homeowners improve energy efficiency and make homes across Europe more sustainable.

• Design, build and operate backend systems and APIs;
• Own solutions end-to-end, from design and development through deployment and ongoing improvement;
• Contribute to architecture and technical direction across a European platform;
• Integrate with payment providers, credit bureaus, KYC/AML services and funding partners;
• Help shape engineering standards, best practices and AI-assisted development;
• Mentor colleagues and raise the bar across the engineering team.

• Strong Python and Django experience or a comparable framework;
• Experience designing and building scalable backend services and REST APIs;
• Solid PostgreSQL expertise and AWS experience;
• Experience working within complex or regulated environments;
• A collaborative approach with strong technical problem-solving skills;
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor or similar;
• Nice to have: Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor or similar AI-assisted development tools.

• Up to £85,000 salary;
• 15% Annual bonus;
• £7,000 Car allowance;
