backend developer for static analysis

• Design and implement new static analysis checks, rules, and inter-procedural analysis algorithms;
• Extend Qodana’s capabilities in license compliance, security, and vulnerability detection;
• Optimize code analysis execution, configure execution paths, and orchestrate performance based on project context;
• Build and refine CI/CD integrations for different development workflows;
• Collaborate with compiler and IDE teams across JetBrains to share insights and align analysis engines;
• Take ownership of features from early concept through release, gathering feedback and iterating on improvements;
• Deliver initial analysis rules and integrations during the first three months;
• Take full ownership of specific analysis features and collaborate with neighboring teams on robust solutions for complex codebases;
• Help shape the technical direction of Qodana Core and improve static analysis performance and developer experience.

• Deep, practical knowledge of JVM development, such as Kotlin or Java;
• Experience designing and implementing complex algorithms or handling performance-critical backend architectures;
• Fluent English communication skills for collaboration with global team members;
• Curiosity about code structure, compilers, and static analysis;
• A proactive mindset toward fixing broken processes and improving systems;
• Strong collaboration skills and the ability to support technical ideas with clear, logical reasoning;
• Comfort working in a distributed team across different countries and time zones;
• Focus on quality and long-term maintainability;
• Nice to have: experience with developer tooling, static analysis, application security, or LLM-based applications; familiarity with C++, Rust, JavaScript or TypeScript, Python, .NET, or Go.
