backend developer for pharmaceutical R&D

The project supports initiatives in AWS, AI, and data engineering for a major science and technology company in the pharmaceutical industry. It is modernizing data infrastructure by transitioning to Snowflake to enhance advanced AI capabilities and support future innovation and growth.

• Operate within the D&A landscape, primarily using AWS Cloud Services and Azure AD, to support R&D efforts in drug discovery and development
• Support and implement the technical roadmap
• Maintain platform functionality, engineer the data archive process, and adapt to emerging technologies
• Implement new features and build and manage deployments

• In-depth experience with Python and relational databases, SQL, and a background in object-oriented programming
• Knowledge of RESTful APIs and AWS-based microservices, including AWS Lambda with boto3 and serverless design
• Experience building enterprise-level cloud-native systems using AWS services
• Knowledge of OOP and design patterns, with experience in code review and producing high-quality code and technical documentation
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and experience building and deploying them
• Experience with testing frameworks
• Familiarity with AWS security best practices, including MFA, encryption, user roles, and policies
• English B2 (Upper Intermediate)
