Hypofriend operates an online platform that helps customers navigate home buying, from affordability calculations and property matching to mortgage calculation and processing. Its customer-facing and advisor-facing products support mortgage optimization, customer interactions, application processing, and secure handling of financial documents.

• Support customer-facing and advisor-facing products built with Vue.js, GraphQL, Ruby on Rails, and AWS;
• Understand systems end-to-end, from application code to the infrastructure they run on;
• Write infrastructure-as-code and debug production incidents;
• Build resilience with a pragmatic focus on key building blocks and clean architecture;
• Work closely with backend engineers and product teams;
• Improve the resilience and security of calculation engines, back-office tools, and customer-facing platforms.

• Strong commercial Ruby experience of at least 4–5 years, ideally including Ruby on Rails 7/8;
• Experience with RSpec;
• Good understanding of object-oriented patterns;
• Hands-on production experience with Terraform for infrastructure-as-code;
• Working knowledge of AWS, including ECS, Lambda, RDS, CloudFront, VPC networking, and IAM;
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines;
• Solid understanding of observability, including monitoring, logging, and alerting;
• Experience with containerization, including Docker, ECS, or Kubernetes;
• Comfort with incident response, including on-call rotations, postmortems, and root-cause analysis;
• Good understanding of RDBMS operations, including PostgreSQL 16+, backups, performance tuning, and failover;
• Security-first mindset and familiarity with secrets management, least-privilege access, and cloud security best practices;
• Nice to have: Experience with serverless Ruby and Node.JS architectures, familiarity with GitHub Actions, experience defining and tracking SLIs/SLOs/error budgets, scripting or automation experience beyond Ruby including Bash and Python, prior experience in a regulated industry such as fintech or proptech.
