backend developer for cloud services

Its Cloud Services provides data protection, security, and edge services, including SSL, email, EADN, and CDN/WAF, to keep customers’ applications safe and performant.

• Own features end to end within the team’s domain, from specification through code and tests to production
• Turn requests into precise written specifications and resolve ambiguity with the requester
• Use agentic tooling daily, apply automated pull-request reviews, and build and share reusable skills with the team
• Test every change, gate coverage on changed code, exercise failure cases, and provide evidence in pull requests
• Review code promptly, identify design problems, and give specific feedback on what to change and why
• Mentor engineers through pairing, explaining reasoning, and providing timely feedback
• Participate in the on-call rotation, document incidents and follow-up actions, reduce toil, and document specialized knowledge
• Safely modify unfamiliar parts of the hosting platform and improve their instrumentation
• Identify dependencies on other teams, agree on them directly with the responsible engineers, and deliver them ahead of related work
• Align engineering work with business priorities, deliver commitments on predictable dates, and communicate risks early with evidence
• Understand customer and business outcomes and clarify the need before building

• 5+ Years of experience in software engineering, building and running production software, with ownership of shipped work after release
• 5+ Years of experience with Perl or PHP
• 5+ Years of experience with relational databases
• Depth in at least one part of a production system and the ability to learn unfamiliar areas
• Ability to review code in languages not used daily and identify problems
• Hands-on daily experience with AI-assisted engineering, including precise specification, critical review of generated code, and explaining its failure modes and pre-merge checks
• Habit of writing tests alongside changes, gating on changed code, and using tests to catch mistakes
• Experience operating software built, participating in a production on-call rotation, owning an incident, and contributing to a follow-up write-up that led to a change
• Clear written communication in a remote, distributed team, including documenting decisions and trade-offs and working across time zones
• Будет плюсом: 5+ years of experience with CDN, WAF, and server security, experience in managed hosting, cloud, or another high-availability service business
