ai engineer for hotel voice assistants

Moralis is building Jasper, a hotel voice-assistant product that combines Python services, on-device AI inference, speech and audio processing, touchscreen interfaces, connected hardware, and cloud messaging on physical devices deployed in hotel rooms.

• Design and build production Python services and APIs using FastAPI, HTTP, and event-driven or message-based communication for the Jasper voice assistant;
• Integrate AI and ML capabilities, including model APIs, local inference engines, and agent/tool-calling workflows;
• Build resilient integrations with external services, handling timeouts, failures, retries, and asynchronous responses;
• Design and maintain data-access layers with PostgreSQL and SQLAlchemy or comparable tools;
• Develop and troubleshoot Linux services, processes, permissions, networking, logs, and hardware-connected applications;
• Build and maintain Docker-based packaging and deployment workflows;
• Write automated tests and use code-quality tooling to maintain the codebase;
• Diagnose issues across application code, OS configuration, networking, and connected hardware;
• Collaborate through Git, including reviewing and improving colleagues' code;
• Work with product, hardware, and operations colleagues to turn real-world requirements into robust technical solutions.

• Strong commercial experience developing production applications in Python;
• Good understanding of typing, asynchronous programming, dependency management, and maintainable code structure;
• Experience designing and integrating APIs and distributed services;
• Proven ability to integrate AI or machine-learning capabilities into real products;
• Experience building reliable applications that handle external-service failures and asynchronous responses;
• Good understanding of separation of concerns, dependency inversion, domain modelling, and testable component design;
• Experience with relational databases and data-access layers;
• Strong Linux development and troubleshooting skills;
• Practical experience with Docker and repeatable build, packaging, or deployment workflows;
• Experience writing automated tests and using pytest, static type checking, and linting;
• Experience diagnosing problems across application code, networking, operating-system configuration, and connected hardware;
• Experience using Git in a collaborative development workflow, including code review;
• Ability to work effectively in an evolving product environment;
• Clear written and verbal communication skills;
