ux/ui designer for AI applications

Medizinischer Dienst Berlin-Brandenburg advises statutory health and long-term care insurance funds in Berlin and Brandenburg on social medicine and nursing-related matters. It assesses care levels, conducts quality inspections in hospitals and care facilities, evaluates rehabilitation services, and supports social medicine in the interests of insured people.

• Analyze professional workflows, user needs, and process gaps in close collaboration with specialist departments;
• Review outlined solution approaches and assess technical dependencies for prioritization;
• Develop clearly defined AI use cases with tangible professional value based on existing systems;
• Identify AI opportunities in structuring, research, and quality assurance;
• Develop target visions and usage scenarios for AI applications while considering technical constraints;
• Create wireframes and clickable prototypes for early validation of solution ideas;
• Conduct and evaluate user workshops, usability tests, and interviews;
• Develop user surveys to measure workload reduction and usage quality;
• Translate professional requirements into structured prompts, system instructions, test cases, and evaluation criteria;
• Develop reusable prompt patterns for typical use cases in the preparation of assessment processes;
• Evaluate AI outputs for plausibility, completeness, professional validity, comprehensibility, and potential risks;
• Document test results, error patterns, optimization needs, and quality criteria for responsible AI use;
• Contribute to standards for secure, traceable, and data-protection-compliant prompt use with sensitive social data;
• Collaborate with specialist departments, AI management, IT, and data protection to design user-friendly AI solutions that comply with legal and ethical principles;
• Ensure accessible, intuitive, and practical interaction concepts;
• Incorporate data protection, information security, and existing-system requirements into target visions, prototypes, and usage concepts at an early stage.

• Degree in Service Design, Media Design, Psychology, Communication, or a related field, or an equivalent qualification with relevant professional experience;
• Experience in user-centered analysis, Design Thinking, prototyping, and usability testing;
• Confident use of methods for requirements gathering, process analysis, and visualization of usage scenarios;
• Strong knowledge of software and web development;
• Confident use of common UX and AI tools;
• Awareness of responsible handling of sensitive data and regulatory requirements for developing AI applications;
• Strong empathy for users and enthusiasm for interdisciplinary collaboration;
• Analytical thinking, creativity, and the ability to present complex matters simply;
• Confident communication and moderation skills in workshops and alignment sessions;
• German at a fluent, negotiation level (C2);
• Candidates must have a work permit for Germany;
• Nice to have: experience with AI-supported applications, digital administrative processes, social or healthcare data, regulated work environments.
