Ux designer for digital services

University of the Arts London (UAL) is a world-leading creative university for teaching and research in art, design, fashion, communication and performing arts. Under the leadership of our new President and Vice-Chancellor, we are designing the University around social purpose; through the students and ideas we send out into the world, and the partnerships we build to achieve social, environmental, and economic progress.

• This role will be instrumental in establishing and embedding UX, design, research, and accessibility standards across the team.
• The role includes leading UX design services, enhancing existing products, coaching other UX designers within the team and potential future line management.
• This role will also be responsible for developing data-driven processes, ensuring UX effectiveness and alignment with agile methodologies, enabling the team to deliver value swiftly.
• The role will also be an active member of our design community in Digital and Technology, providing coaching and mentoring support to other members.
• You will collaborate closely with the product team through discovery and delivery phases to align all UX and research processes with our agile delivery process and advocate for a culture of continuous improvement.
• In this role you will help further shape and implement easy-to-use principles, standards, and methodologies for UX design.

• Demonstrable knowledge, experience, and passion for user-centred design, with expertise in a range of UX tools and techniques.
• Extensive experience applying design thinking and UX methodologies across the full product lifecycle.
• Exceptional storytelling, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to translate research insights, user feedback, and data into actionable design solutions.
• Ability to mentor and coach designers and uphold high-quality design standards within teams.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with senior stakeholders and multidisciplinary agile teams to deliver iterative, user-centered solutions at pace.
• Adept at working in agile product-led environments, shaping products and services through your research and design processes and working closely with Product managers, content and engineers.

• Competitive salary of £52,977 - £63,815 per annum, dependent on experience
