algo1 is reinventing the in-store grocery shopping experience through a platform that understands each shopper, responds to their context in real time, and makes everyday retail interactions more personal and engaging. The company combines frontier AI research, product and strategy expertise, and retail data and analytics.

• Own the end-to-end design of the shopper experience, from initial sketches to shipped interfaces;
• Turn complex user problems into elegant, intuitive flows for distracted shoppers in physical stores;
• Prototype rapidly to answer difficult product questions before development;
• Set the visual bar for typography, layout, hierarchy, and detail;
• Evolve the design system, including components, tokens, patterns, and documentation;
• Use motion and micro-interactions to guide attention, provide feedback, and add moments of delight;
• Observe shoppers in real stores, translate findings into better designs, and iterate through real-world validation.

• Demonstrated experience designing and shipping digital products used regularly by customers;
• Portfolio showing strong UX thinking and exceptional visual detail;
• Meaningful animation and interaction design experience;
• Ability to simplify complex user journeys without losing substance;
• Experience building or meaningfully evolving a design system adopted by engineering teams;
• Familiarity with Tokens Studio, design-to-code workflows, and modern frontend collaboration;
• High proficiency with Figma and modern prototyping tools;
• Ability to judge when a static frame is sufficient and when a working prototype is needed;
• Experience designing for users with visual, motor, or cognitive differences;
• Ability to balance design quality with delivery constraints and defend decisions to product and engineering teams;
• Daily use of frontier AI tools for concept exploration, option generation, rapid prototyping, and work refinement;
• At least 4 years of product design experience;
• Nice to have: experience with brand systems, visual identity, or wider design leadership; AI-powered, consumer-facing, or retail technology products; ethnographic or observational research in real-world environments; early-stage startup experience.
