• Set design strategy across multiple product areas and platform connections while shaping company direction with executive leadership;
• Present to and influence executive leadership on how products and platforms create competitive advantage;
• Lead strategic projects requiring alignment across products, platforms, and business units;
• Identify company-wide opportunities and inform multi-year strategic planning;
• Establish design practices, methods, frameworks, and tools that improve design practice across the company;
• Solve highly ambiguous, precedent-setting challenges and develop approaches that become standard practice;
• Shape platform evolution across multiple product areas;
• Develop senior design talent, mentor Principal-level designers, and advise executives on design leadership;
• Set and embody quality standards across products, markets, and platforms worldwide;
• Build external partnerships with agencies, vendors, and academic institutions.

• 10+ Years of product design experience, including significant experience setting strategy for complex, multi-product organizations;
• Portfolio demonstrating strategic impact at scale, company direction influence, conflict resolution, and measurable multi-year business value;
• Proven experience working with C-level executives, presenting to boards, and influencing company-wide decisions;
• Experience setting design strategy across multiple product areas and resolving strategic conflicts;
• Strong platform thinking and experience establishing organization-wide design standards;
• Demonstrated thought leadership through major conferences, published articles, or industry recognition;
• Experience solving unprecedented challenges and creating new methods or frameworks;
• Strong business acumen and ability to connect design decisions with multi-year business outcomes, metrics, market dynamics, and competitive positioning;
• Experience building design capabilities at scale, including operations, governance models, and talent development programs;
• Ability to navigate organizational complexity across business units, geographies, and cultures;
• Deep expertise across design disciplines, from visual design to systems thinking, with ability to coach others and set excellence standards;
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Design, HCI, or a related field; an advanced degree is strongly preferred;
• Nice to have: experience in media, publishing, or financial services at enterprise scale, design transformation or digital modernization initiatives, M&A integration or product consolidation through design, establishing design organizations in global companies, published books or research, board or advisory experience, university-level or executive education teaching experience, patents or innovations in design methods or tools, strategic AI/ML experience, international business experience, cross-cultural design leadership.
