product designer for aviation

FlySto is a startup project supported by JetBrains. Its product allows pilots to store and analyze flight data from different perspectives on web and mobile devices.

• Guide a small team of product designers, ensuring team productivity and high-quality results;
• Own the design direction and lead large-scale initiatives from vision and strategy through execution;
• Own the design process hands-on, from research and problem framing to creating wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and polished UI;
• Collaborate with product managers, developers, researchers, and stakeholders to define problems, align on goals, and ensure design solutions meet user and business needs;
• Communicate design concepts and decisions to stakeholders and the team to promote alignment and understanding;
• Conduct and analyze usability testing and user research to create design solutions based on real user needs and behavioral data.

• Proficiency in Figma;
• Ability to apply an existing brand’s visual language consistently within product interfaces;
• Ability to clearly articulate design decisions, explain thought processes, identify issues, and justify proposed solutions;
• Realistic understanding of personal strengths and areas for growth;
• Active participation in product discussions and cross-functional collaboration;
• Ability to guide tasks end to end, from design solution through implementation and user feedback;
• Comfort working in a highly iterative environment and adapting solutions as the product evolves;
• Nice to have: experience designing mobile applications, interest in aviation or being a pilot.
