graphic designer for safe migration campaigns

IOM is the leading UN agency in the field of migration. It promotes humane and orderly migration, protects people on the move, supports solutions to displacement, and facilitates regular migration pathways while providing services and advice to governments and migrants. The Central Asia Safe Migration project addresses exploitation, recruitment fraud, unsafe migration, and reintegration challenges across Central Asia.

• Develop original custom illustrations for communication and awareness-raising activities covering safe migration, recruitment fraud prevention, tax refunds, and UK Seasonal Workers Scheme updates;
• Create distinctive visual identities and original graphic elements for thematic packages;
• Design visually engaging illustrations in line with IOM Branding Guidelines for social media, print materials, presentations, reports, and other project outputs;
• Develop visual assets for social media and adapt them to reflect the cultural and national identities of Central Asian countries;
• Prepare print-ready leaflet layouts and other awareness-raising materials;
• Provide additional graphic design services and adapt communication materials within the consultancy scope;
• Deliver 80 original social media designs, including static posts, carousel posts, infographics, and other digital assets;
• Adapt approved social media materials into Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Tajik, and Uzbek;
• Deliver five print-ready leaflet designs and adapt each leaflet into Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Tajik, and Uzbek;
• Create 20 custom vector illustrations covering approved thematic areas;
• Deliver editable source files in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, or Figma, along with high-resolution digital files and print-ready PDFs where applicable.

• Degree in Communications or a related field;
• At least three years of experience designing communication materials for social media and print;
• Practical experience designing materials for information campaigns;
• Experience developing original vector illustrations and visual concepts;
• Ability to create culturally appropriate visual materials for diverse audiences in Central Asia;
• Strong communication skills;
• Strong command of Russian and Kyrgyz;
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop;
• Strong illustration and vector design skills;
• Knowledge of typography, layout design, and visual storytelling;
• Ability to prepare print-ready artwork and digital assets;
• Ability to adapt designs for multilingual content while maintaining visual quality and consistency;
• Nice to have: Experience with international organizations, UN agencies, NGOs, or development partners, experience designing awareness-raising communication materials, experience with Figma or other collaborative design platforms, knowledge of English.

• Consultancy from August 2026 to March 2027;
• IOM provides occupational accident and illness coverage under the Compensation Plan for the duration of the consultancy;
• Consultants must have their own medical insurance for non-occupational accidents and illnesses and provide written proof before starting;
• Appointment is subject to funding confirmation, medical fitness certification, accreditation, residency or visa requirements, and security clearances;
• The required language proficiency may be evaluated through written and/or oral assessments.
