Data analyst in automotive

The BCA EU business is now at an exciting turning point in their ambitions for how data can enhance their customer proposition. This role is part of an investment to strengthen the Decision Intelligence capability in the EU business, through continuous development and maintenance of the Data Warehouse, expanding our use of Data Science & Machine learning solutions, developing new dashboards and fostering the adoption of these tools by the business users, promoting efficiencies and generating added value.

• Develop proof of concepts to demonstrate how business requests/ needs can be addressed by leveraging relevant data sources, performing the necessary data transformation and analysis, and applying statistical or modelling techniques where appropriate.
• Translate the results into practical solutions that can be embedded into business processes, such as Power BI reports or other decision-support tools
• Transform and analyse data from the data warehouse and other available sources to develop ad-hoc or recurrent analysis and/or modelling solutions that address business needs and support the business in being more data-driven
• Work together with the other EU analysts to develop understanding of what new data capabilities will deliver the highest returns for the several business teams
• Develop specification of the new data integration / reports / data science models would be required & document within DevOps system
• Work with relevant reporting / data warehouse / data science teams
• Support in the identification of data quality issues in the BCA EU data warehouse to help drive use of accurate information by all business functions across BCA
• Explain the implications of analytical outcomes to business stakeholders in an easy-to-understand way, and help them understand the changes required to the business processes to drive improvements in business results
• Present finished output to users and collate their feedback for any required updates
• Proactive identification of new opportunities to leverage data for business advantage in the several business functions
• Active participation in the BCA Data Communities – EU and Group-wide
• Support the drive towards data definition standardisation and higher organisational data quality & consistency
• Work with the BCA reporting team to create simple to understand reporting dashboards to enable effective operations usage of analytical outputs

• Expertise in using data to drive improvements in several business functions
• Strong statistical analysis skills, including hypothesis testing, trend analysis, segmentation, correlation analysis and the interpretation of model results
• Experience of using SQL to extract and transform data from data warehouses
• Experience of building reports and dashboards in PowerBI and / or other tools
• Advanced use of Excel and PowerPoint to report data to stakeholders
• Usage of backlogs using DevOps or other Kanban board tool
