Global Tax Data provides data management services and supports program and product initiatives that improve tax data integrity across Amazon's global indirect tax compliance operations. The teams manage tax data infrastructure, reconciliation tools, and operational reporting for compliance teams worldwide.

• Perform monthly tax data reconciliation activities and resolve discrepancies between source systems, tax reporting warehouses, and the general ledger;
• Analyze data quality issues, identify root causes, and drive corrective actions with upstream and downstream teams;
• Develop and maintain operational reports, dashboards, and metrics for reconciliation health and data readiness;
• Own and manage SIM tickets and intake workflows, ensuring timely response and resolution for internal and external stakeholders;
• Partner with compliance teams to understand reporting requirements and translate them into data specifications;
• Document standard operating procedures, runbooks, and process flows for recurring operational activities;
• Identify opportunities to automate manual processes, reduce cycle time, and improve data quality;
• Support audit data requests by extracting, validating, and delivering data packages to auditors and tax authorities;
• Participate in and contribute to Monthly Business Reviews, Quarterly Business Reviews, and operational readiness activities.

• Bachelor's degree;
• Experience in tax, finance, or a related analytical field;
• Experience writing SQL queries and creating business intelligence reports using Tableau and Power BI;
• Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights;
• Experience with Excel;
• Experience with SQL;
• Experience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders;
• Nice to have: Experience identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize, or simplify finance or business tools and processes; experience with large-scale data mining and reporting tools such as SQL, MS Access, Essbase, or Cognos; experience with financial systems such as Oracle, SAP, Lawson, or JD Edwards.
