Business Analyst

Barclays is delivering a multi-year strategic transformation programme within its Subledger Accounting team to enhance financial reporting, accounting processes and regulatory compliance across the organisation.

• Identify and analyse business problems and client requirements that require organisational change;
• Develop business requirements addressing business problems and opportunities;
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure proposed solutions meet their needs and expectations;
• Support the creation of business cases justifying investment in proposed solutions;
• Conduct feasibility studies to determine the viability of proposed solutions;
• Support project progress reporting to help deliver proposed solutions on time and within budget;
• Create operational and process designs to ensure delivery within the agreed scope;
• Support change management activities, including development of a traceability matrix;
• Advise and influence decision-making and contribute to policy development;
• Lead collaborative assignments and guide team members through structured assignments;
• Identify new directions for assignments and projects and combine cross-functional methodologies or practices to achieve required outcomes;
• Consult on complex issues and advise People Leaders on escalated issues;
• Identify ways to mitigate risk and develop policies and procedures supporting control and governance;
• Take ownership of managing risk and strengthening controls;
• Collaborate with other areas to support business-aligned functions and keep up to speed with business activity and strategy;
• Analyse complex data from multiple internal and external sources to solve problems creatively and effectively;
• Communicate complex information;
• Influence and convince stakeholders to achieve outcomes.

• Accounting background and Finance domain experience;
• Experience in Business Analysis and requirements management;
• Experience delivering change and transformation using Agile methodology;
• Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills;
• Ability to advise and influence decision-making;
• Ability to lead collaborative assignments and guide team members;
• Ability to analyse complex data from multiple sources;
• Ability to communicate complex information;
• Ability to influence stakeholders and achieve outcomes;
