Job Role: Test Engineer - Construction Products

Location: Hemel Hempstead, On-site

Job Type: Permanent, Full-time, 36 hours p/w

Salary: From £32,000 + bonus + excellent benefits.

As a Test Engineer in our construction products laboratory, you'll work with specialist lab equipment to evaluate products against both British and International standards. You'll carry out hands-on mechanical testing, operate sophisticated test rigs, investigate product performance and help ensure construction products are fit for their purpose.

A Test Engineers day will typically include:

- Setting up and configuring test equipment

- Preparing construction products for testing

- Running mechanical and performance tests

- Analysing test results

- Maintaining laboratory equipment

- Liaising with colleagues and customers

- Contributing ideas to improve testing methods and equipment

• Carry out physical and performance testing of construction products
• Prepare samples and set up test equipment and rigs correctly
• Run tests safely, consistently and in line with procedures
• Record results accurately and maintain clear, traceable test records
• Write test reports
• Support routine checks, calibration activities and upkeep of equipment
• Work in accordance with our quality management system (ISO 17025)
• Contribute to continuous improvement of methods, equipment and ways of working
• Assist with the laboratory Lean 5s improvement program
