Quality Assurance Engineer (auto) Optical Networks

Nokia’s Optical Networks R&D organization builds advanced networking solutions for the AI-driven data center era.

• Champion quality throughout the full product R&D lifecycle
• Contribute to sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily scrums, reviews, and retrospectives
• Collaborate with developers, product owners, and system architects to refine requirements, define acceptance criteria, identify risks early, and improve testability
• Design, develop, and execute automated tests using Python and pytest, integrated into CI/CD pipelines and aligned with the team’s Definition of Done
• Apply AI-assisted testing techniques, including test generation, synthetic test data, failure-pattern analysis, and coverage optimization
• Continuously improve test strategies, automation frameworks, and Agile QA practices

• BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Physics, or a related technical field
• Solid understanding of optical transmission fundamentals
• Proficiency in Python-based test automation and CI/CD integration
• Knowledge of or hands-on experience with AI/ML applications in software testing, such as AI-assisted automation, defect detection, test-result analysis, or coverage improvement
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Strong ownership, responsibility, and accountability
• Clear communication and effective collaboration across teams
• Fluent written and spoken English
