qa engineer (auto) for simulation engines and cloud services

The company delivers digital environmental engineering and sustainability solutions, including modeling software, advisory services, and cloud platforms that address water and environmental challenges worldwide.

• Design, build, and maintain scalable automated testing frameworks for simulation engines and cloud platforms
• Develop regression suites to validate numerical calculations, time-series data, and output correctness against scientific tolerance criteria
• Design and execute performance benchmarks to profile calculation speed, memory usage, and CPU multithreading during simulation runs
• Perform automated REST and gRPC API testing and end-to-end integration testing across backend services
• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines running in containerized environments
• Investigate test failures across application code, simulation engines, compilers, dependencies, and configuration layers
• Collaborate with distributed software engineering and scientific teams to define quality criteria and expected test outcomes

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
• Ideally 5 to 8 years of hands-on experience in Quality Engineering and Test Automation
• Strong proficiency in C# and Python for test framework development and scripting
• Experience handling and validating numerical outputs, time-series data, or large scientific datasets
• Experience with REST/gRPC API testing and basic knowledge of UI test automation tools such as Playwright or Selenium
• Hands-on experience running tests in CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions or TeamCity, and familiarity with Docker/Kubernetes environments
• Demonstrated experience in performance, stress, or scalability testing
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working across distributed teams
• Applicants must currently reside in Germany and have unrestricted work authorization
