project manager in infrastructure migrations

The client is a global organisation operating at significant scale within the Life Sciences sector.

• Take full ownership of the GlobalScape SFTP consolidation project from planning and stakeholder alignment through migration execution and post-go-live stabilisation;
• Lead the migration of DHCP and DNS services to the data centre, managing sequencing, dependencies, and coordination with the infrastructure team to maintain business continuity;
• Manage concurrent migrations of MoveIt, Cerberus, and SHS Tectia file transfer platforms;
• Set and maintain delivery cadence across concurrent infrastructure and migration projects, managing dependencies, risks, issues, and milestones;
• Lead mixed project teams comprising BAU staff and dedicated project resources;
• Manage stakeholders across IT, infrastructure, and business functions, communicating clearly at senior levels under delivery pressure;
• Produce regular delivery reporting, maintain project documentation, and provide visibility of progress, risks, and required decisions.

• Proven senior-level project management experience focused on infrastructure and migration projects in an enterprise environment;
• Direct, hands-on experience leading complex technical delivery programmes to completion;
• Strong familiarity with SFTP platforms and file transfer technologies;
• Hands-on experience managing data centre migration projects, including planning, sequencing, testing, and cutover;
• Proven ability to operate confidently at senior levels across IT and business functions;
• Experience leading mixed project teams comprising BAU staff and dedicated project resources;
• Comfort working across Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid delivery methodologies;
• Proactive, ownership-oriented mindset focused on finding solutions;
• PMP, PRINCE2 Practitioner, PRINCE2 Agile, or equivalent professional experience and training;
• 10+ Years of experience required;
• Nice to have: GlobalScape EFT or comparable enterprise SFTP platforms, MoveIt, Cerberus FTP, SHS Tectia, DNS and DHCP infrastructure migration projects, Life Sciences or regulated industry experience, ITIL-aligned change management, global multi-geography technology organisations, MSP certification, ITIL Foundation certification, SAFe or Scrum Master certification.

• Contractor engagement;
• Initial duration of 6 months;
• Target start in late March 2024.
