• Run end-to-end in-house bookkeeping for entities in DATEV Rechnungswesen including AR/AP, banks/cash, and accruals/deferrals;
• Lead the migration of accounting data, configurations, and workflows from external bookkeepers into a structured DATEV environment;
• Own data consolidation across entities by maintaining intercompany billing, reconciliations, and enforcing consistent chart-of-accounts;
• Drive tool setup and integration by connecting Yokoy and other systems with DATEV, validating tax mappings, and designing standardized procure-to-pay workflows;
• Eliminate duplicate entries and recurring errors through root-cause fixes and targeted automation;
• Own reporting and advisor coordination by delivering financial data, managing external tax advisors, and ensuring closings and audits remain on track.

• Proven ownership of German entity bookkeeping within DATEV Rechnungswesen for a GmbH or similar, including VAT returns under HGB and German VAT rules;
• Demonstrated success transitioning from external bookkeeping to an in-house setup, including data migration, SOP creation, and process improvements;
• Hands-on experience integrating spend/expense tools with DATEV and implementing audit-ready P2P workflows;
• Strong experience with intercompany billing, monthly reconciliations, and producing audit-ready schedules for group reporting;
• Nice to have: Exposure to German payroll accounting, comfort with DATEV Unternehmen online, and experience with light automation.
