financial accountant for German financial statements

• Coordinate the preparation of German annual financial statements (Jahresabschluss) and support year-end closing activities
• Ensure compliance with German accounting regulations (HGB) across finance operations
• Liaise with external tax advisors and auditors to support tax filings and audit processes
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Support financial planning, budgeting, and reporting activities
• Oversee accounting processes beyond bookkeeping, including reconciliations and financial controls
• Maintain accurate financial records in the ERP system
• Prepare regular financial reports and analyses for management
• Support finance operations across monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting cycles
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth finance operations
• Support continuous improvement of finance processes and internal controls
• Perform other finance and accounting tasks as assigned by the Finance Manager

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• At least 5 years of accounting or finance experience in Germany
• Hands-on experience coordinating German annual financial statements (Jahresabschluss) and year-end closing
• Strong knowledge of German accounting regulations (HGB)
• Experience working with external tax advisors and auditors
• Experience in finance operations, financial planning, budgeting, and reporting, including coordinating monthly, quarterly, and annual closing
• ERP experience with SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, Datev, or One Stop Shop, and experience managing accounting processes
• Fluent German and English, both written and spoken
