Finance Manager in renewable energy

The client operates in the renewable energy and infrastructure industry and is a growing, sustainable business at the forefront of the energy transition.

• Lead the month-end financial close and review entity-level management accounts packs for accuracy and timely delivery
• Prepare and review consolidated management accounts for the Senior Finance Manager, Financial Reporting team, and Head of Finance
• Ensure balance sheets are accurately reconciled
• Produce management accounts for the assigned facility from the ground up in collaboration with the Plant Manager and Facility Management Team
• Support other Management Accountants in developing accurate accounting for the new facility
• Serve as the main contact for the Plant Manager and Facility Management Team on financial enquiries
• Deliver variance analysis and KPIs to support operational decision-making
• Review weekly waste flow and rolling tonnage models
• Review monthly KPI packs, identify key variances, and investigate anomalies
• Create a stepped R&M forecast comparing actual spending with budget and projections
• Support preparation of the monthly finance report, highlighting key variances and drivers
• Identify and track financial risks and opportunities
• Own the Group's capex reconciliation, update project timings, and identify risks and opportunities
• Assist the Senior Finance Manager with annual and three-year budget processes
• Assist the Senior Finance Manager with quarterly reforecasting
• Collaborate with the Systems Accountant to ensure data integrity and system controls
• Support system implementations, data migrations, and process improvements
• Use AI and automation tools to improve reporting efficiency and accuracy
• Line-manage and develop a team of Management Accountants
• Organize regular catch-ups with the Management Accountants and Senior Finance Manager to discuss priorities and concerns
• Partner with the wider business to deliver impactful results
• Act as the first point of contact for operational heads
• Support the wider business with finance-related queries and analysis
• Attend monthly management meetings and support team delivery of impactful results
• Support the annual audit process and delegate tasks efficiently and on time
• Authorize payment runs and ensure checks are completed accurately
• Authorize project spending and ensure it stays within the approved budget
• Support ad hoc projects alongside other finance team members
• Contribute to special projects and FP&A initiatives as required
• Identify and drive process optimization, financial improvements, and AI integration

• ACCA, CIMA, or ACA qualified, with 5+ years of post-qualified experience
• Advanced Excel skills, including producing, manipulating, and reconciling complex workbooks to a high standard
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Excellent communication skills; able to explain information clearly and concisely
• High personal standards, with accuracy and clear presentation in all work
• Team leadership and people management experience
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Proactive in adopting AI tools and technology to improve efficiency and accuracy
