finance manager in local government

• Support the Director of Finance (Deputy S151 Officer) and Head of Strategic Finance;
• Deputise when required;
• Oversee financial planning, monitoring and coordination of revenue and capital finance arrangements;
• Lead a team of two Principal Accountants and an Accountant;
• Manage budgeting, monitoring, closing of accounts, and completion of grant and statistical returns for the Dedicated Schools Grant and Education General Fund services;
• Deliver strong financial management advice to managers and schools.

• Hold a CCAB/CIMA accountancy qualification or have extensive knowledge and experience of local government finance;
• Have successfully managed key financial processes, including budgeting, monitoring, closing of accounts, and completing grant and statistical returns;
• Have experience working successfully as part of a professional team to deliver financial management advice to managers and schools.

• Salary range: Grade 17 £68,571- £71,055 p.a. plus fantastic benefits;
• Permanent contract;
• 36 Hours per week;
• Flexible working arrangements may be considered subject to business needs;
• Hybrid working is supported, with part of the working week at the workplace and the remainder working remotely;
• The successful candidate will be subject to a DBS check if the role requires one.
