finance manager for Argos Imports

Sainsbury's is a FTSE retail business operating stores and supporting teams across its wider group. The company provides retail products and services through its business, including Argos.

• Support and business partner with the Argos Imports Logistics team;
• Lead financial planning, reporting, control, and compliance frameworks for Imports accounting processes;
• Provide insightful analysis and commentary to stakeholders;
• Influence key business initiatives;
• Oversee period-end closure processes delivered in collaboration with the dedicated Accenture team;
• Deliver period, quarter, and annual reporting for Imports Operations and FX;
• Ensure adherence to financial regulations and corporate accounting policies;
• Collaborate with commercial teams to deliver budgets, forecasts, and strategic plans for Imports operations;
• Enable management to make informed decisions based on accurate performance data.

• Hold a professional accounting qualification: CIMA, ACCA, or ACA;
• Have experience in a large similar-sized organisation;
• Demonstrate experience managing corporate accounting processes, including period-end closure, balance sheet reconciliation, and establishing and maintaining corporate controls;
• Demonstrate business partnering experience within a Commercial Finance role;
• Have strong commercial acumen focused on driving excellent financial and commercial performance;
• Analyse and interpret financial data to support operational decision-making;
• Deliver and manage change within a business environment;
• Communicate with and effectively challenge senior stakeholders, adapting to audiences with varying financial and commercial knowledge;
• Demonstrate strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to simplify complex information;
• Have coaching and team leadership skills;
• Nice to have: Retail experience.
