finance manager construction projects

The company is a large nationwide organization in the construction and real estate sectors, with multiple branches and regional finance teams. It is developing its finance function from traditional registration and analysis toward more predictive and advisory work.

• Prepare forecasting, projections, and expected results;
• Control project risks and results;
• Prepare monthly and quarterly reports;
• Take financial responsibility for the branch;
• Act as a sparring partner for branch management and project teams;
• Guide project teams on risk management and result forecasting;
• Contribute to annual plans, budgets, and business plans;
• Monitor working capital at project and branch level;
• Monitor financial agreements and contractual obligations within projects;
• Contribute to process improvement, automation, administrative organization, and internal control;
• Maintain contacts with accountants, tax advisors, and legal advisors;
• Participate in regional and national finance meetings;
• Hands-on guide project teams on risk management, result forecasting, financial progress, and budget control;
• Identify and discuss financial risks in a timely manner;
• Improve and professionalize processes and build organizational support;
• Advise the business, make risks visible, and contribute to the further professionalization of finance and project control.

• Strong financial and controlling foundation;
• Experience within a project-based organization;
• Experience with forecasting and projections;
• Strong analytical skills;
• Critical thinking and the courage to identify risks;
• Clear business-oriented mindset;
• Ability to translate financial information clearly for non-financial colleagues;
• Experience with budgets and project results;
• Knowledge of Dutch GAAP;
• Completed hbo or wo degree in Business Economics, Business Administration, Accountancy, or a comparable field;
• Nice to have: experience in construction, real estate, or another project-based organization, experience with project budgets and project control, background in Business Control and/or Financial Control, or strong Financial Controller experience with an affinity for projects.
