Chief accountant in oil products trading

Caspi Trade LLP is an oil products trader in Kazakhstan. We sell on the domestic market and for export, and process crude on a tolling basis at the Pavlodar, Atyrau and Shymkent refineries. We are looking for a strong Chief Accountant to lead our accounting team and own accounting and reporting across our group of companies.

• Lead the accounting team: assign and review work, develop people
• Develop and maintain the accounting policy and the tax accounting policy
• Run the month-, quarter- and year-end close; review entries and reconcile inventory at each refinery
• Account for tolling: refinery output reports, product cost by item using FIFO
• Prepare a management P&L by company and project by the 20th of the following month
• Prepare and review tax returns (forms 100.00, 200.00, 300.00, 400.00, 421.00, Declarant); reconcile tax accounts with the State Revenue Committee
• Prepare quarterly financial statements by the 25th; annual IFRS statements
• Foreign trade: export documents, contract registration numbers (UNK), repatriation deadlines, confirmations from the State Revenue Department, customs duties and payments, form 1-PB to the National Bank
• Control e-invoices (ESF) and goods transportation documents (SNT)
• Review supplier and customer contracts: details, delivery terms, price, VAT, appendices
• Review payments in online banking and manage the payment calendar
• Reconcile with counterparties weekly; monitor receivables and payables
• Calculate dividends and prepare distribution minutes
• Work with tax authorities, auditors and banks; support tax audits and, where needed, court proceedings
• Contribute to budgeting and financial planning

• Higher education in accounting, finance or economics
• 5+ years in accounting, including 2+ years as Chief Accountant or Deputy Chief Accountant
• Solid knowledge of Kazakhstan tax and accounting legislation
• Confident use of 1C:Enterprise, the taxpayer portal, the ESF and SNT systems, online banking and Excel
• Experience closing periods and filing the full set of tax returns on your own
• Knowledge of IFRS
• Foreign trade experience: export, currency control, repatriation, National Bank reporting
