CFO BtoC - new business unit

MET Group is an integrated European energy company, headquartered in Switzerland, with activities in natural gas and power, focused on multi‑commodity wholesale, trading and sales, as well as energy infrastructure and industrial assets.

MET Retail is a new chapter for the group: bringing energy directly to households. We're building a technology-driven retail platform for power and gas, with a digital, customer-first model. One model, built to scale across Europe.

• Lead all financial, accounting, risk management and treasury with strong financial discipline and transparency
• Acting as a strategic partner to the local business and international management
• Develop and execute a financing strategy aligned with MET Retail' growth plan
• Overseeing all financial activities including planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis. The role also involves managing treasury, liquidity, and cash-flow planning
• Provide financial insight to support commercial decisions, business development, and strategic initiatives, and to ensure that appropriate financial controls and risk-management frameworks are in place to support the commercial activities
• Oversee audit preparation and ensure timely, accurate, and compliant financial audits
• Master degree in finance
• 6-8 years experience in senior finance roles in BtoC segment, with a strong background in the energy sector, other regulated market experiences, like telecommunication, banking could be also considered
• A solid understanding of IFRS, financial reporting and risk management is essential
• Ability to combine strategic thinking with a hands-on, business-oriented approach
• Fluency in both English and Spanish is required
• Experience building scalable systems, processes, and teams in a high-growth environment is an asset
• Excellent analytical and strategic-thinking abilities
• Entrepreneurial mindset, ability to blend traditional financial stewardship with the growth-driven, agile mindset

Additional Information

The Chief Financial Officer is a key member of MET Retail Business Unit leadership team, accountable for all financial, accounting, risk management and treasury activities. This is a lean, highly collaborative team, so the CFO must balance strategy with selective hands-on execution.

Scope

Spain at launch; multi-market as the venture expands. The role is central in scope: one digital engine serving all markets, based in Madrid.
