Accounting Operations Finance Manager-6

We’re looking for a Finance Manager to join us in Bradford.

Working in a constantly changing, dynamic, fast paced and diverse environment, the Financial Manager is responsible for Management Accounting across companies within the Liberty Global footprint including Virgin Media.

The role will suit a qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail. The successful candidate must be deadline focused with an aptitude for process improvement and simplification.

What will you be doing?

Month-end activities:

• Perform accounting processes across the organisation
• Prepare journal entities
• Prepare analysis and provide insight into areas of focus
• Working within internal reporting deadlines
• Making recommendations to improve and simplify processes
• Liaise with Senior Stakeholders and influence decision making across the organisation

Control:

• Implements an effective internal control framework
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, highlighting and resolving any issues
• Ensuring compliance with SOx and other regulatory requirements
• Liaising with auditors and providing evidence and supporting narrative as required

Process Improvement and Automation

• Ensures work is performed efficiently
• Identified opportunities to improve & simplifies processes
• Works collaboratively to standardise processes
• Works with automation teams to automate processes

We Tend To Look For People With

• Professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA etc.)
• Knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS
• Experience of working within large corporate structures.
• Strong excel and financial systems skills (eg. Oracle, Hyperion/HFM)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to coach and develop others
• Experience of working in a complex environment, delivering to deadlines
• Experience of research into emerging / complex accounting or reporting issues
• Qualified Accountant with Management Accounting, and/or audit experience
• Assurance mindset – the ability to review accurately, but also to identify risks in processes and reconciliations and articulate/resolve/mitigate these as part of the monthly accounting cycle
• Communicator - to provide clear and meaningful interpretation of analysis conducted. To be able to lead and control meetings with senior stakeholders
• Customer Focused – to be able to understand finance and operational stakeholder’s needs and requirements in order to provide excellent customer service. To understand the correct balance between challenge and support of these stakeholders in order to raise both the profile and external perception of the team
• Collaboration – working across internal and external teams in multiple locations to deliver improvements and best practice within the team
• Self- motivated - Well-organised, adaptable and resilient. Responds to challenging priorities with a sense of urgency and pace. Ability to work under pressure
