Platform engineer in cloud and container security

You will be working for one of the leading financial institutions in the Netherlands, operating in a highly regulated and technology-driven environment. The organisation plays an important role in the Dutch banking sector, providing a wide range of financial services to individuals and businesses. We are looking for an enthusiastic Platform Engineer to join the Platform Engineering team in Amsterdam.

• Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of container platforms running on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
• Contribute to container image hardening initiatives to improve security and reduce vulnerabilities.
• Support the implementation of secure-by-design engineering practices across the platform environment.
• Work with Microsoft Azure services and gain further experience with cloud infrastructure.
• Read, understand and contribute to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) configurations using Terraform.
• Support Azure networking and infrastructure-related activities.
• Contribute to monitoring, logging and observability practices to ensure platform reliability and performance.
• Collaborate with experienced engineers on automation, vulnerability management and platform operations.
• Identify opportunities to improve platform stability, security and operational efficiency.

• Currently residing in the Netherlands is a requirement. Applications from candidates living abroad will not be considered.
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering or a related technical field.
• A basic understanding of Microsoft Azure services.
• Familiarity with container technologies and an understanding of Kubernetes concepts.
• An understanding of container image hardening principles and container security.
• Familiarity with Azure networking concepts.
• Understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
• The ability to read and understand Terraform configurations.
• An understanding of monitoring, logging and observability concepts.
• A proactive attitude and willingness to learn and develop within a collaborative engineering environment.
